About Me

My photo
Will Kendrick
Through an ongoing investigation into colour and material Will Kendrick’s work aims to occupy the space between disciplines by investigating their boundaries and perception. His work comments on painting by choosing to view it from outside the discipline’s peripheral boundaries: placing itself in reference to the transitional aesthetic of the sixties New York school of painters. By employing techniques that are usually more commonplace in sculpture, He is able to examine the physicality of paint and the language that surrounds the discipline. The work aims to explore ideas of order and chaos, painting and sculpture, avant-garde and kitsch and how these precarious pairings can exist together, through subtle formal arrangement and colourful sensory overloads.
